Broader market indices showcased a down trend from the past two trading days. BSE Mid-cap index dropped 2.85%, while BSE Small-cap also dipped 2.95%.
BSE Finance index which holds the maximum free float market capitalisation of 25.23% in the Mid-cap index slipped over 1% at 5,570 level.
Bajaj Finserv was the top index loser on Wednesday’s trade. The stock ended losing 4.55% at Rs 5,082.15 per share on BSE.
BSE Mid-cap index on Wednesday's trade failed to bounce back in the positive territory and closed trade losing over 256 points or 1.66% at 15,156 level. Similarly, following the trend of the Mid-cap index, the Small-cap index also ended lower at 15,605 level, slipping over 298 points or 1.88%.
Pharma stocks took a beating on Wednesday and ended being the top loser among sectoral indices on both the exchanges.
Healthcare index which commands 6.48% market capitalisation in the Small-Cap index can be attributed for dragging the index. Natco Pharma was the top loser in the Small-cap index and contributed majorly to index losses dragging it to lower levels.
